The Museum of Broken Relationships Indianapolis is a partnership between the IUPUI Museum Studies Program and the Museum of Broken Relationships between 2021-2023. Students assisted in the curation of objects and stories, creation of public programming, and evaluation of the exhibit.

Program: Missing American Youth in American Art

Traditional art galleries of American artists often portray portraits of youth. But do they accurately reflect the youth of today? This "artivism" program allows American youth of today to reflect and add to the canon of works that reflect who they were, are, and hope to become.

Charles Umhey is a U.S. Army urologist and avid photographer. Deployed during the early years of the Vietnam War, he documented his time through letters to his wife, Tavy, and his personal photos. This online exhibit highlights the fears, realities, and small joys of a man who saw the consequences war.
